The Mayerson Family Foundations: Innovation and Involvement
The Mayerson Family Foundations are dedicated to creating communities that are just, caring and respectful – communities in which marginalized populations are empowered and all people have opportunities to seek their highest aspirations.
What We Do
We have formed two foundations that work together to help us serve the community:
The Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation – Through this grant making foundation we partner with and invest in highly effective and efficient organizations positioned within their field to make a significant impact on the issues they address.
The Mayerson Foundation – Through this operating foundation we aim to generate and implement innovative approaches to important issues in our areas of interest for the purpose of contributing new knowledge and filling important unmet needs.

Featured Partners & Programs Access Goes to Church… to Cook up a Mitzvah (Good Deed)!
This past Sunday, January 15th, 30 plus Jewish young professional volunteers took over the kitchen at Nast Trinity Church in Over-the-Rhine and turned a typical church basement into a restaurant for the day. It was all part of Access’ ACTout social action initiative, in partnership with the Jewish Federation, in which volunteers prepared, cooked and served breakfast to some of Cincinnati’s less fortunate, most of whom live below the poverty level or who are homeless. Participants flipped pancakes, scrambled eggs and helped welcome and wait on guests in need of a hot meal and warm heart.
This marks the fourth year in a row that ACTout has gone to Nast Trinity to host a breakfast event of this kind. We have developed a very special relationship with the church and with some of the Over-the-Rhine residents who attend every year. This year, in addition to serving a hot breakfast with all the trimmings, we supplied tablecloths, vases with fresh flowers, and table service with menus and wait staff. After all, few if any of our guests ever get the chance to go out to a restaurant, one of life’s simple pleasures that most of us take for granted. We think these extra touches gave our guests a greater sense of dignity while allowing more opportunities for interaction with our volunteers, helping to elevate the experience for everyone involved!

Shalom Family Presents Potato Pancake Arty Party
Shalom Family took over the School for the Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) and threw Cincinnati’s biggest Hanukkah celebration of the year, the Potato Pancake Arty Party, where more than 500 people spent the afternoon participating in a wide variety of arts-related activities. Children got the chance to make musical instruments, create mini-masterpieces inspired by the works of some of the greatest artists of all time, see a professional potter at the wheel, see a performance by Grammy nominated children’s entertainer, Zak Morgan plus dance, sing, paint, draw, mold, sculpt, color and more. Of course what Hanukkah party would be complete without potato pancakes with applesauce and sour cream?
