Shroder & Seven Hills High School Students Discuss Criminal Justice System

The community service classes at Shroder High School hosted Seven Hills High School students and community members at their school for a dialogue about the state of the criminal justice system.

120 participants joined to watch clips of the documentary “13th” and share reactions and insights to the information presented.

The event called “Continue the Conversation” was ideated from Shroder students’ desires to engage a broader community in learning about the criminal justice system after they watched the documentary “13th.” Student event goals included: engaging others in watching “13th,” having discussions to impact the future of the justice system, educating others on plea deals, reducing barriers to reentering citizens, learning to dialogue effectively, and shattering stereotypes of African American youth.
